The Clerk of the Council and staff are committed to provide quality public service, efficient use of City resources, and the preservation of Santa Ana's legislative history.
Mission Statement :
Our mission is to ensure Santa Ana's legislative processes, conduct city elections, and provide administrative services.
Office Hours :
The Office of the Clerk of the Council is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
(alternate Fridays closed).

Legislative![]() Prepare City Council Agendas. Post agendas and public notices of meetings and adjournments. Record and prepare Council Meeting Minutes (archive). Maintain digital indexes of Council actions and public records. |
Elections![]() Conduct all City Elections and maintain a historical record. Filing Officer of campaign contributions, expenditures and conflicts of interest statements, and maintain all statistical data required pursuant to state mandates. Maintain precinct information, and provide maps and instructions to candidates. |
Administration![]() Coordinate appointments to the City's citizen advisory boards, post a list of vacancies, and administer Oaths of Office. Update and distribute copies of the Municipal Code to City Departments, and manage inventory and sales of code books and supplements. Manage the retention and destruction of official documents in compliance with the Citywide Retention Schedule. Maintain custody of the City Seal. Accept claims and subpoenas filed with the City. |
