Día Countdown
The Santa Ana Public Library was the recipient of the Estela and Raúl Mora Award for excellence in Día programming in 2011.

Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros was founded by author Pat Mora in 1997 as a celebration of families, literacy, and bilingualism. Mora based the celebration on Children's Day, a holiday that was created in 1925 following the World Conference For the Well-being of Children held in Geneva, Switzerland. Children's Day is typically celebrated throughout Latin America on April 30th, and its popularity has grown in the U.S. over the past decade.
The Santa Ana Public Library has held its own Día celebration since 2009. Here's a look at some of our past Día festivities:
