Thousands are expected to attend the City of Santa Ana’s 39th Annual Fiestas Patrias Weekend Festival & Parade in Downtown Santa Ana.
The 39th Annual Fiestas Patrias Festival and Parade will be taking place in Downtown Santa Ana on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The cultural parade will march Main Street on Sunday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
This city sponsored event’s festivities include: Entertainment headliners Antonio Aguilar Jr. on Saturday, September 16 and Los Horoscopos de Durango on Sunday, September 17; additional performances by local music and dance groups will also entertain the crowd. Street vendors will be providing delicious food and drinks alongside artisans and vendors selling crafts, home and novelty items. Our annual beer garden will also be serving crisp and fresh refreshments for adult. The always exciting carnival rides and games for children and their families are bound to brighten everyone’s day.
On Saturday, September 16, we have the annual El Grito Ceremony on the Festival’s main stage beginning at 7:00 p.m. Led by the Mexican Consulate in Santa Ana, the ceremony honors the traditional call to arms on the eve of Mexican Independence Day and is a massive, synchronized call that dates back to 1810 and celebrates the anniversary of the fight for Mexican Independence.
The City’s annual Fiestas Patrias Parade will take place on Sunday, September 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mexico; Magia y Encuentro will be this year’s parade theme, showcased by the colorful floats, bands, dance and equestrian groups as they march down Main Street towards the Downtown area and onto Santa Ana Boulevard. This year’s festivities are not to be missed.
